Construction is a mature market that requires superior branding to break through the clutter and tilt sales in your favor-even on contract bid jobs, where work doesn't always go to the lowest bidder.
The Posillico family has been in construction for over 60 years and created many divisions, each run by a different family member under a different brand name. This created confusion in the marketplace. The James Group needed to consolidate 6 companies under one brand and one sales moment.
The James Group recognized the genius of the Posillico family's approach to creating construction divisions-they wanted to control the quality rather than go to sub-contractors they couldn't take full responsibility for. This drove the Posillico family to create a general contractor division, then asphalt business, then environmental division, then drilling
company, then consulting company, etc.
These various divisions made the Posillico family
a superior choice for complex construction jobs that
require environmental remediation and
communication across all divisions. However the
dilution from various brand names (J.D. Posillico,
Posillico Bros. Asphalt, Blue Water Environmental,
Metron Development Service, and Posillico
Development Company) made the company look
small.
Results
The James Group united the companies under one
brand, Posillico, represented by a large stylized "P"
logo that could easily be recognized on construction
equipment and construction hats.
The James Group also focused their business to go
after large, complex construction jobs with the
tagline "We know how."
The brand rollout was overwhelmingly successful and
resulted in increased revenue and profitability for
the entire Posillico family.
